Around the date of June 2, 2011 Ken Corday announced that in the coming months 6 characters will be leaving to welcome back 5 or 6 old characters !
Lets start off with those whom are leaving:Crystal Chappell (Carly) is leaving when her contract expires this August. While I am watching the present shows it is obvious that she will be shipped off to rehab. Her son Nicholas Alamain, portrayed by Cody Longo, will be coming to town to help Carly in this hard transfer .
Louise Sorel (Vivian) will also be leaving the cast. Which is odd due to the reappearance of her son Quinn (Bren Foster) in Salem. However it would make sense that she came to town around the same time as Carly, why not leave at the same time? In any case, Ivan G’Vera whom played the part of Viv's henchman Ivan is returning as well for a short time to escort his Madame out of town. Wonder where Gus went?
Bren Foster is on the departure list as well but only to return a while later.
Nadia Bjorlin (Chloe) is also set to be leaving. But how will she be written out? Perhaps she'll set out after her son Parker, whom left with his father Philip Kiriakis ( Jay Kenneth Johnson )? It is very sad to loose Nadia once again. I was hoping for a Phole reunion but we can just make an assumption of her and Philip reuniting. Hopefully in the future when the writers remove the Fernandez clan from our sacred show Jay and Nadia can return and bring back some heat on our screen! Francisco San Martin (Dario) will be leaving as well. He took to his twitter and told his fans that his departure is to make room for some of the old characters that are returning! How will he be written out? Will Melanie (Molly Burnett) once again be left behind by another man? This in my opinion is a shame because I was beginning to grow on this character. After the departure of Nathan (Mark Hapka) I was very upset that Nathan and Melanie never got to reunite after the Philip/Chloe/Stephanie debacle. So when Melanie finally found Dario and I started to grow on him my love for Days decreased when I found out about his departure. Nevertheless I am always a Melanie and Nathan Fan!
And lastly.....
THE LORD HAS HEARD MY PRAYERS! THEY ARE FINALLY WRITING OFF TAYLOR!
I do not have anything against the actress Tamara Braun, but I can kindly say that I do not care for her character of Taylor Walker.
Aside from these characters there is another one exiting whom has played a big role this summer. Shelby Young (Kinsey) has been interacting a lot with Nicole & Chloe along with her teen group. She will also be exiting and news has it that she already wrapped up her final scenes.
For the returns :
Matthew Ashford (Jack Deveraux) will be returning very soon! He is to be seen by the viewers before September! Excitement! Hoping that Jack is coming back to get his "ex" wife!
Drake Hogestyn (John) and Deidre Hall (Marlena) will also be returning in September they will be a big part in the episode that will air on the 26th of September!

Austin and Carrie fans will rejoice! This couple is also set to return this September! Christie Clark will be returning to play her part as Carrie but her husband won't be the same. Last time we saw this happy couple Austin was being portrayed by Austin Peck but now Patrick Muldoon will be taking back the role! Muldoon played Austin from July 7, 1992 to April 6, 1995.On a side note : Sarah Brown will be joining the cast of Days Of Our Lives. There is not much info on her character but I'll keep you posted :)
